Melted Dice

Melted Dice is the interdisciplinary practice of Bex (they/them), an artist based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, working across music, poetry, zines, and visual art. The work explores power, survival, intimate partner violence, LGBTQ+ identity, and resistance through feminist and anti-capitalist perspectives.

Poetry and song address patriarchal control, gendered violence, otherness, sobriety within music culture, and the importance of chosen family and queer friendship. Zines combine text and visual material to explore these themes through a DIY publishing format rooted in feminist and activist traditions.

Alongside this, acrylic landscape paintings, ceramics, and photography explore nature and local public spaces as spaces of refuge, autonomy, and renewal.

Together, these works examine how people endure systems of control while building lives rooted in freedom, safety, nature, and connection.
