During this they were also managing several chronic health issues, which led to an interest in herbal medicine, and a deeper engagement with nature as a theme within the work.
Melted Dice performed as a three-piece band at venues across London and Essex, including Zigfrid von Underbelly (Hoxton), The Rocksteady (Dalston), The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Upper Norwood Library, as well as The Railway Hotel (Southend-on-Sea).
Early work by Melted Dice was performed as a three-piece band under the name Beyond the Dawn in Nottingham while Bex was completing doctoral research on belonging and otherness in contemporary queer cinema.
Bex experimented with scriptwriting, poetry, and filmmaking, drawing inspiration from the New German Cinema movement of the 1960s-1980s.
